The Center for Bioelectric Interfaces at VOLGA NEUROSCIENCE MEETING 2025!

From August 25 to 29, 2025, Nizhny Novgorod hosted the VOLGA NEUROSCIENCE MEETING, an international conference bringing together leading researchers in the field of neuroscience.
The team of the Center for Bioelectric Interfaces presented a number of reports and posters on modern neurotechnologies, machine learning and the development of noninvasive neuroimaging systems.

Program: August 27

  • Alexey Ossadtchi, Doctor of Physico-mathematical Sciences, Head of the CBI
Topic: Analysis of EEG and MEG with Interpretable Machine Learning and AI: from Simple Regression to Foundation Models. The report was devoted to the use of interpreted AI models in EEG and MEG analysis, with an emphasis on the transition from simple regression approaches to foundation models that preserve physiological interpretability.
August 28
  • Daria Momotenko
Topic: Traveling Waves Reconstruction Method with Monte Carlo Simulations Based on MEG Data
The report presented an original technique for reconstructing traveling waves in MEG data using Monte Carlo simulations.

  • Alexey Ossadtchi
Topic of discussion: AI for Neuroscience and Neuroscience for AI
The discussion focused on the interaction between AI and neuroscience, from application interfaces to the philosophy of cognitive modeling.

Poster session: Tuesday, August 26
  • Ilya Semenkov
The poster: A Foundational EEG Model with Neurophysiologically Interpretable Spatiotemporal Filters. The architecture of a model capable of learning neurophysiologically meaningful spatiotemporal filters based on EEG data is presented.
  • Magomed Aliverdiev
The poster: Passive Speech Mapping System, ELoQ
The features of the ELoQ software and hardware complex, an innovative system for passive mapping of speech areas of the cerebral cortex without the need for direct stimulation, are revealed.
